HINSDALE CENTRAL BOYS LACROSSE CLUB
Dear Parents and Lacrosse Players:
Welcome to the 2010 Hinsdale Central High School Boys Lacrosse Club
(ÒHCBLCÓ)! We are very excited about the upcoming season and the
expectation that Lacrosse will become an IHSA sanctioned sport for the 2010-2011
season. While the HCBLC is
associated with HCHS, it is a parent run, nonprofit, and
mostly self funded organization. The Hinsdale Central High School
Athletic Department does help to support HCBLC with transportation to
away games, trainers for home games at Hinsdale CentralÕs Dickinson
Field, administration and a coaching stipend. As such, your financial
support through fees and a willingness to volunteer are imperative to the
success of the program.
REGISTRATION: Required forms are included
in this email. They will also be posted on the HCBLC website
(www.hinslax.org) and will be available at the Hinsdale Central High
School Athletic Department. Completed registration forms need to be returned
by mail to the registrar by Saturday, January 16th, 2010.
Please refer to the ÒChecklistÓ below. If you will NOT
be registering for the 2010 season, please email the registrar at bklangham@att.net
and indicate this so we can remove your name from our mailing
lists.
PARENT MEETING: Mark your
calendar for the HCBLC mandatory parent and players meeting on January 20th, 2010 at 7:00 p.m., at the Hinsdale Central High School
(ÒHCHSÓ) auditorium. At this meeting we will introduce our coaches, outline
the plans and schedule for the upcoming season, and go over the schoolÕs
athletic code. Further information on this meeting will be sent to
you by email in December.
PRACTICES/TRYOUTS: Practices/tryouts
begin on Monday, March 1st, 2010. Further information on tryouts
including time, location and format will be communicated at the January 20th
parent meeting.
FEES: Fees for the upcoming season are the
same as last year at $600.00 for all returning players**.
The fee for all new players is the same as last year, at $750.00,
which includes the cost of a uniform (home and away jerseys,
shorts, practice reversible and hooded sweatshirt).
Please make
your check payable to Hinsdale Central Boys Lacrosse Club. Please note
that the Club does not accept credit cards.
The cost of a
complete new uniform (freshmen and new players to the
program) or replacement uniform components for returning
players is a separate fee (not part of the above $600 fee). Players purchase
and own their uniforms. The uniforms purchased are expected to last
throughout a playerÕs tenure with the club.
**Returning players – If you havenÕt done so already, please take
inventory of your last seasonÕs uniform. You should still have
from last season both of your jerseys (home and away), shorts and practice
reversible. If you cannot locate your uniform from last season
or are missing pieces, please contact Mr. Jeff Mohl at JMohl@glic.com
as soon as possible. There is at least a six week turn around time from
the time a uniform order is placed and it is received by the
club. Please do not wait.
All Varsity team
players are required to have a team warm up suit. It is the same
warm up suit as last season so only new Varsity team players
or those needing to replace the one purchased last year will need to
pay this fee. The approximate price is $80.00. Additionally, the
Varsity team will be sporting ÒwhiteÓ home shorts this season.
The approximate price for the shorts is $30.00. Varsity
team selections will be announced after the completion of
try outs. The fees for the warm ups and the ÒwhiteÓ
shorts will be collected after the Varsity team announcement in
early March.
The 2010 player fee level was established to cover all
anticipated operating costs of the club, including the cost of the March
tournament in Louisville, KY. Operating costs include coaching salaries,
field rental, game official fees, league fees, goals and other team
equipment, advertising, and administrative costs. This fee does not include
the cost of uniforms, individual player equipment, team merchandise,
the end of season banquet or any other special occasion fees.
Players are required to supply their own equipment. HCBLCÕs
only requirement is that helmets consist of an all white body (shell) with
a red (scarlet) visor (brim) and jaw. Please refer to the HCBLC
website at www.hinslax.org for specific information as it relates to
equipment.
MEDICAL/ACCIDENT INSURANCE: HCBLC and
HCHS do not provide insurance coverage for players against injuries.
Players are required to be covered under a privately obtained insurance
policy. If you need information on an insurance company, you can contact the
HCHS book store.
PHYSICALS: Registered players will not
be allowed to play or practice without a valid medical physical form
on file at the Hinsdale Central High School Athletic Office. Please note
that we are required to crosscheck with the Hinsdale Central High School
Athletic Dept. to ensure compliance. There will be no exceptions!
Medical physical forms are only valid for 365 days
from the examination date. Please verify that a 2009 medical physical
exam will be valid through the duration of the 2010 season (season
ends June 6, 2010). If you have any questions, please contact the
HCHS Athletic Office. The medical physical form submitted for
freshmen enrollment meets the requirement for freshmen only. A new medical
physical is needed each year. Medical physical forms (other than the standard
IHSA form) on file for other sports (hockey, etc.) in the
same school year are acceptable.
Included with the registration materials is the standard
IHSA medical physical form. If you need to have (or update) a
medical physical, please drop off the completed medical physical
form before the first day of practice in the HCHS Athletic
Office and tell them it is for the HCBLC. Please DO NOT return the physical form with your completed
registration materials or give them to the coaches.
COMMUNICATIONS: Communications will
be primarily handled through email and the HCBLC website www.hinslax.org. The club hotline
(630-621-9612) will be activated prior to tryouts and should be
checked daily throughout the season.
